KaleidoChess is a reinvention of the classic game of chess. I felt that such an interesting, engaging game deserved a design that matched the vibrancy of its play. I created the piece designs in Adobe Illustrator and cut them from neon acrylic using a laser cutter. The board itself is made from clear acrylic, engraved to outline the individual spaces and slotted so the pieces fit securely. I love how this project turned out and the layered appearance of the semi-transparent acrylic.
